When all else fails, I have 3xLG turrets all engineered to deal with any low to moderate pirates that manage to keep up with me. Although Void Opals can be found in any icy rings, which occur fairly commonly throughout the galaxy, the locations with the highest concentrations of asteroids with Void Opal cores are Void Opal Hotspots within high-mass icy rings orbiting Gas Giants . I usually sell for between 85M and 105M per trip. They fetched well over 1 million credits per tick and the nice thing about the Colonia bubble is that ringed systems abound and are a virtually untapped resource here. I read in the Elite:Miners that double hotspots have no effect on the spawn rate of core asteroids, so I would stick to LTDs as a more consistent meta. I use to use a Python for mining (it now my to go cargo ship) but I have an Anaconda for that job and currently just farming whatever I can make for money atm.
