While it's quite the challenge, it's a fun and inspiring show to follow. Im laughing at her showing up repeatedly in heels and a a "vintage leather coat" to "help my guys out" by painting two strokes on a shutter, or throwing one screw into a crappy fabricated garage door. I suggest watching Rehab Addict. Tamara’s father, Ward, also gets in on the action.

Click Me If You're Ready to Be Amazed 6 Fake: Beachfront Bargain Hunt There's a reason why the show aired for nine seasons and won two Primetime Emmy Awards, right? Just stop it! It defiantly hurts my heart to see her paint over the original wood work, reconfigure floor layout to destroy all signs of the home's original plans, and paint stately brick buildings with a "whitewash". Follow her down-to-earth glam style perfect for everyday life. As many of you well know, Ward Schraeder not only works as a host for Bargain Mansions, but he’s also Tamara’s dad.

Following the lives of different people with hoarding issues, the show is a guilty pleasure for many.

Tarek and Christina actually buy houses and put all the work into renovating and selling them. Stop the insanity HGTV and cancel this " didn't she just decorate this mansion last week". Just as recently as S3 Episode 1, I couldn't compute the oddly tiled wall in the living space (the tiled wall itself, and the choice of weird tan tile) or the garish butterfly and branches wallpaper. There is no reason to believe any part of the show is fake since people actually do trade their big homes and start living smaller. Live stream HGTV now. This Kansas City native and mother of four specializes in restoring the neglected large homes that others are too scared to take on. However, it turns out the show isn't quite as real as one might think. The show was on the air for a few years, but soon enough plenty of relevant information came up. Since when is a 3,000 square foot house a mansion? Well, perhaps the reality of it. The answer is probably no one, which is why Beachfront Bargain Hunt was such a hit with audiences.

It goes to show that when tile is the only choice her ideas suck.

As a Kansas City Native I really wanted to like her show, but as someone with deep background in Construction and renovation I just can't. I tried to give this show a chance because HGTV shows are fun, inspiring, and entertaining. The show has always encouraged would-be home renovators to find their own style, their own path when renovating a space. Then, she infuses French flair throughout the house while creating a large open floor plan that’s perfect for entertaining. Stop ruining old houses!!!

It has always been a part of my life in one way or another, though I never considered it as a career until I became an adult. Bargain mansions. DIY Network "Bargain Mansions" TV Star Tamara Day is a purveyor of the glam and cozy. Bahahaha. Right? Hate that she often over modernizes the kitchens (in my opinion). She takes beautiful mansions and manages to make the inside of these homes look exactly alike. Although her homes end up very nice in the end, she has no sense or care for original features. As such, Day believes that providing people with the knowledge that they too can do it, to be a major message to share with viewers in future installments.

That's probably one of the reasons why twin brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott became such a hit in the first place. Fortunately, they were able to reach a settlement with the EPA for violating the “Toxic Substances Control Act’s Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP)”.  The settlement required Bargain Mansions to help educate people about the dangers of lead-based paint. An interesting note, in a different interview, Tamara is installing smart technology to keep an eye out on her own kids, in case they break curfew. Im sure the guys doing the actual work are super pumped when she shows up.... dont get me started on what others have already reviewed regarding how she literally destroys the history of what was a fantastic home that was lovingly built by an individual that i promise is now rolling in his grave. Horribly staged and cluttered). Tamara Day is the host of DIY Network’s new series Bargain Mansions. I was so disappointed in the result, I don't think I could bring myself to ever watch any future shows. It's one thing to turn a bedroom into a pretty spacious laundry room - but who covers a folding area with 4 decor baskets and a tray..? Recapping Supernatural? I really want her to start working with a reputable designer as she makes the oddest choices. Exterior of colonial mansion looked much better before than after. Then there's the "surprises" that any professional would see early in. When they were built, these lavish homes were likely worth today's equivalent of millions of dollars. Yikes! The worst designs I think I've ever seen on HGTV, November TV Calendar: Series Return and Premiere Dates, Constructii, case, cladiri, castele, arhitectura, hoteluri. I find I can't tell one mansion's inside from the rest. I wish Tamara would change her views on her mansions and actually restore them instead of permanently changing them for the worse. Anyone who has ever lived on the beach here in Florida knows this Beachfront Bargain Hunt is bullshit. I've never seen a show on this network that has only one voice for 60 minutes. Is it Possible That the Show Pawn Stars is Fake? She utterly painted almost all the wood white. At least the renovation is real! See how Tamara tackled a charming 1905 Kansas City Shirtwaist. Everyone knows what makes Craftsman homes so beautiful and that is the wood. Also, pretty fake. When you watch Bargain Mansions, “everything you see me do is stuff I know how to do, and could do all of it, but just for times sake, I may not have been able to finish…”. I watch in horror and disbelief at Day as she says she is in the process of restoring and bringing these beautiful and neglected stately mansions back to former glory. Keep the original layout and work with it, unless that is her thinking isn't able to. Many of these shows have even launched countless careers for people who work in the home design space. This lady needs to stop doing this to these beautiful old homes and stick to newer builds if she wants to continue doing open concept. A roundup of uplifting stories about everyday heroes. But that doesn't keep us from indulging in our favorite show, no matter how unrealistic they can come across as. Tile tile tile everything she does needs the tile.

And no bathroom has less than five different, very different, tiles. And why in the hell does she always do the first floor before the second?

Great show to watch if you want to get upset and pick out a good tile to use on something...not the tile is usually very cheap to accommodate her over spending on things she should have looked at prior to buying a house, 30k on a roof, 20k on plumbing. From the NBC Press Tour – Heroes Not Renewed – Yet, Chuck: ‘Chuck Versus Santa Claus’ Recap & …. Of course, under normal circumstances, there’s no doubt that Bargain Mansions is an entertaining show.

Mostly white walls and gold fixtures looks tacky to me..and not all historic because she rips everything out. A 1938 cottage with an unusual layout and no front door gets a makeover.

The Top Ten Dueling Monsters In Yu-Gi-Oh! Shows like Bargain Mansions tend to be successful because people like to things be transformed. Home renovation and repair shows have become increasingly popular over the last few years. This creates sustainability, and affordability without adding to landfills. Ugh!

Tamara revives a neoclassical Colonial by updating the kitchen, parlor and breakfast nook while preserving its historic charm. She has no concept of the working triangle in a kitchen. Just remember the old windows will end up choking a landfill somewhere. I just watched an episode where the kitchen did not have a refridgerator. Canmore National Record of the Historic Environment. Find someone who has some talent please. However, sometimes we can't help but wonder just how much is true and how much is completely scripted? Once everything blows over, Bargain Mansions may be a bit easier to enjoy again. Tamara turns a large, old farmhouse into a country living-style home. Reality television is a sucker for anything family-related. From a villa that's been sitting empty for 70 years on an island in upstate New York to a Gothic manor in Scotland, here are 11 abandoned mansions around the world that were likely once worth millions of dollars. All in all this show is historically bad. Why have a 'living room' with one chair and a little end table as the only items in the whole room? I like the idea of the show but agree with most of the other comments. Tamara's renovation includes a new kitchen and gold-accented tile. The" After" of the "Before and After" is not much better. Tamara takes on a 1900 Kansas City Shirtwaist-style home containing a living room with a catwalk instead of a ceiling, and she also creates a reading nook and closet to complete the fourth bedroom. And she is not wearing the proper clothes on safety gear for the type of work that she is doing. Tamara fought the Kansas City weather to complete this beauty.
